Family-owned Osk. Rajala Ltd, more known as Rajala Pro Shop, was established over a hundred years ago, in 1919. Photographer and merchant Oskari Rajala traveled around Finland on his motorcycle, capturing images of churches. These church photos were turned into postcards and sold to local merchants, who sold them to travelers. Over time, the business expanded into class photography and the sale of photography equipment. Rajala Pro Shop even ventured into camera manufacturing in its own camera factory in Finland. However, the factory activities ceased during Finland's wars due to supply chain disruption from abroad. The company solidified its position as a reseller of photography-related products.

Today, Rajala Pro Shop has physical stores in Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Espoo, Oulu, and Stockholm, Sweden. Additionally, the company's online store serves customers nationwide. Currently, the fourth generation runs Rajala Pro Shop, with the fifth generation also participating in the business. The significance of photography has grown to become a part of people's work, leisure, and identity. Perhaps the company offers more opportunities than Oskari Rajala could have imagined a hundred years ago. As for the future, the company intends to operate for at least another hundred years!

After establishing Rajala Pro Shop in Finland's major cities and providing services nationwide, the ambitious company decided to explore the Swedish market. "Internationalization through acquisitions was an interesting experience. Even though Sweden is a neighboring country, venturing there posed challenges to solve. Sweden has its own legislation, language, and currency. But challenges are fun to solve!" laughs Jorma Helminen, the 4th-generation representative and CEO of Rajala Pro Shop.

In Sweden, Rajala Pro Shop was looking for an expert in the Visma.net ERP system to integrate their Swedish business into the system already used in Finland. Expertise in Visma.net ERP was found at EMU, and at the same time, it was discovered that EMU offers accounting services in the Nordic countries. "At that point, EMU seemed like a logical choice both as a Swedish system integration partner and as an accounting firm," says Helminen.

From Finland to Sweden

"Visma.net ERP is a suitable system for us. It's great that we can see the accounting of both Finnish and Swedish branches in real-time from the same system. EMU is a modern and genuinely digital accounting firm," describes Helminen and continues, "EMU also handles our payroll in Sweden. Salaries are paid correctly and on time. The payroll service has worked well."
